Are you Ready? On this page you will find a series of questions developed from passages dealing with readiness, conditions, and behavior in the end-times. The questions are meant to help you understand how prepared you are for the events that will precede and attend the return of the Lord Jesus.
1. Do you believe that Christ can and will come at any moment and rapture the church, including you, up into the sky into His presence before any of the events of the tribulation? Y N 2. Do you believe that Christ will come to gather together His people, including you, only after a certain sign or signs take place? Y N If you answered, "yes," do you understand what that sign or those signs are? Y N 3. Are you currently making any changes in your life in light of a belief that you may very likely be living in the time when the Lord Jesus returns? Y N 4. Do you entertain the belief that you might be on earth during the great tribulation, and cut-off from the normal channels to purchase food or the necessities of life? Y N If your answer is "yes," what do you believe is your responsibility now, if any? 5. Do you currently store food and/or water and supplies in case of a disaster, natural or man-made? Y N 6. Have you ever contacted the Red Cross or local civil authorities to discover how to access their supplies in case of an emergency? Y N 7. Have you ever discussed with your family alternate means of communication, or emergency meeting places, in the event that telephone communication is disrupted? Y N 8. If you or a family member have a chronic illness requiring medicine or regular outside care have you discussed with your doctor or pharmacist how you might prepare? Y N 9. What role do you believe your church would have during a time of general civil crisis due to a disaster? Does your church have a disaster relief coordinator who could assist people of the church with the basic needs of life in case of emergency? Y N 10. Who would be your first and immediate contact in case of a community disaster?
What Kind of Attitude Do You Have? I have encountered many different attitudes about the end-times. One will say, "I have nothing to prepare for, except in my heart, and Jesus is already there." Another says, "Well if we are here, then if God provided Moses with manna in the wilderness then he'll do something like that for us!" But I believe we need to take a lesson from Joseph. God showed Joseph what was going to happen--he didn't tell Joseph how to react. God showed him through Pharaoh's dream that there was going to be a drought--Joseph figured that Egypt should save food in the good years. God did not tell captive Israel in advance that they would be led out of Egypt and into a wilderness by Moses, so he provided manna from heaven for them when they needed it. God has told His church that during the time of the Great Tribulation those that belong to Him will not be able to buy or sell without the number of the beast. He has also told us how long that will last. Why did He bother to tell us that? Talk To Your Leaders What should you and I be doing during the good times? I believe it is the responsibility of church leadership to have in place a planned response to disasters. Such a planned response would be best operated through the small group ministry of the larger churches. Concerning physical resources during emergencies there is a wealth of information currently available at http://www.redcross.org/. |
